synopsis

Student Diane from Boston University and her fiancé, Professor Sumner Sloan, intend to wed in Barbados. Sumner leaves Diane behind when he answers a call from his ex-wife at the bar and goes to talk to her. Diane attempted to alter her flight reservation but was informed that Sumner and his ex-wife had already used it. Diane first declines Sam's offer of employment as a server, but she grudgingly agrees after realizing that she can accurately repeat a lengthy order on a table. Sam is the restaurant's owner and bartender.
