1.Creed (2015)
Strictly, "Creed" may not be considered a sequel to "Rocky", but rather another spin-off. The story features the son of Apollo Creed, the heavyweight boxing champion once defeated by Rocky, from which the film's title is derived. The young man from a high society background has an innate talent for boxing, and his ambition to become a boxing champion is opposed by his family. He then found the boxing world and has no intention of returning to the Rocky (Stallone) to serve as his coach.
The film's director and screenwriter, Ryan Coogler, a talented black director. Coogler had already started the idea of making this movie before he started shooting the previous movie "Fruitvale Station". As sports fans, the Rocky movie series means a lot to Coogler. Before he went to a sports game as a kid, his dad would also show the Rocky series to help cheer him up. Not to earn tears from the audience, but simply to encourage audience.
The core of this movie is actually a story of father and son. Although the two main characters in the film are not father and son by blood, Coogler cleverly uses the background of the previous film in the series to make the father-son relationship a logical one. Rocky is now just a lonely old man with a son who is separated from him by two different countries and will only have a little contact. He, who needs a loved one to accompany him through the few remaining tedious life.
Creed, on the other hand, lost his father before he was born and has been reluctant to top the enormous pressure of his father's name, hoping to build a legend that is truly his own. He, for one, needs a trusted mentor to give him guidance on the game and, more importantly, to show him the path of life. It is with this background that the two characters meet, get to know each other and rely on each other, and it becomes natural, rather than being built up for the sake of plot development. It is also because of the natural advancement of the plot that the audience can be more emotionally involved and moved when they witness the close relationship, they build but almost lose it due to an accident.
2.Creed II (2018)
Creed 2, the drama movie directed by Steven Caple Jr. Creed II movie is the sequel of Creed. The male protagonist of the play, Adonis Creed, fought against his opponent, Drago, all because of his father. Creed should be the first match with Drago. These two men growing up in different environments, different training, now in the same ring for the same purpose. The purpose is to clear their father's past humiliation. The match is a battle between the two for their father's righteousness.
3.Creed III (2023)
Creed 3 is the coming sequel after Creed I & II. Creed 3 release date is set to be March 3, 2023. The movie still centers on Adonis, after he has dominated the boxing world, he thrived in his career and family life. When childhood friend and former boxing prodigy Damien Anderson reappears after serving a long prison sentence, he's eager to prove he's worthy of a shot in the ring. The confrontation between the former friends is more than just a fight. To settle the score, Adonis must put his future aside and fight Damian - a fighter with nothing to lose.
Michael B Jordan, who made his directorial debut, said directing himself was "a liberating experience". Judging from previous materials, he has shown his mastery of genre films in the film. Creed itself is a set of outtakes. It's a spin-off of Stallone's Rocky, about the struggle and life of a black boxer. In the last episode, Creed experienced new trials, competition and life, training and family, requiring him to make a choice. Zach Behring, who wrote the screenplay for King Richard, wrote the screenplay. He was nominated for an Oscar for King Richard.
Michael B. Jordan returns as the leading role Adonis. Tessa Thompson also reprises her role Bianca Taylor, Jonathan Majors The Conqueror joins as Adonis's antagonist, and famous fighter Alvarez will play as support actor as well. The story is written by Zach Baylin (King Richard) and Keenan Coogler (Space Jam: A New Legacy).
