synopsis

The Family Stone tells that Everett Stone, a successful Wall Street professional, brings his girlfriend Meredith Morton home to his eccentric, liberal family in rustic Connecticut for Christmas. However, Meredith struggles to connect with the family, as she appears too conservative and conventional for their tastes. Meanwhile, the various members of the Stone family face their own challenges. The only person who shows Meredith any kindness is the rebellious son, Ben, with whom she develops an unexpected romantic connection. As Meredith becomes more overwhelmed by the family's hostility, she reaches out to her easygoing sister Julie for support but ends up developing feelings for Everett. As tensions rise and relationships become complicated, everyone must decide whether to follow their hearts or remain true to their beliefs.
