synopsis

Oliver Stone's 1991 film "The Doors" pays tribute to the 1960s rock band and serves as a biographical portrayal of its lead singer, Jim Morrison, also known as the "Electric Poet". The movie traces Morrison's journey, starting from his college days in Los Angeles to his untimely death in Paris in 1971 at the age of 27. Val Kilmer delivers a remarkable performance as Jim Morrison, with his striking resemblance to the late singer and his vocal abilities that mimic Morrison's own. Reports suggest that even the surviving members of The Doors had a hard time distinguishing Kilmer's singing from Morrison's original tracks.
