synopsis

"Jackie Brown" is a 1997 crime thriller film directed by Quentin Tarantino, based on the novel "Rum Punch" by Elmore Leonard. The film stars Pam Grier as the titular character, a flight attendant who smuggles money into the United States for a gun runner named Ordell Robbie (played by Samuel L. Jackson). When Jackie is caught by the authorities, she is forced to cooperate with a federal agent named Ray Nicolette (played by Michael Keaton) to bring down Ordell. The film was also noted for its use of music, particularly the film's soundtrack, which consists of 1970s soul and funk songs. "Jackie Brown" received positive reviews from critics, with many calling it Tarantino's most mature and thoughtful work. However, the film was not as commercially successful as Tarantino's previous film, "Pulp Fiction."
