synopsis

This contemporary crime drama draws inspiration from Shakespeare's play and uses the names of its central characters. Sinclair Carver, Commissioner of the White London Metropolitan Police, aims to promote racial integration by hiring black and Asian officers. However, a scandal forces him to resign, and John Othello, the only black police officer with authority, is named as his successor over his friend Ben Jago's objections. Ben plots against Othello, causing racial tension and ultimately leading to false evidence of infidelity with Othello's wife Desdemona. Will Othello fall into despair and bring his world crashing down?
