synopsis

The film tells the story of the main character Maria, a nun from the Alps, whose teaching experience only stems from a convent life that is constantly causing trouble, she makes a name for herself when she ventures to take on the role of the governess of seven children. Music is Maria's soul, singing like her heart longing for freedom and love and hate, breaking through barriers and obliterating boundaries, allowing the children to find their place like musical notes, allowing a soldier father who has lost his loving partner to regain his warmth, and the family abandoning their family fortune at the end of the play to go over the mountains to a freer land, suffering as if they must go through the journey, the family is still there, music is still there, and it is already the best gift of life. For a remarkable film that has already been concluded, it seems to add to the problem, and the reason why the classics are so long-lasting is that some aspects of them are still alive.
