synopsis

The Nines tells that Gary, a TV actor portraying a cop, spirals into a destructive lifestyle involving excessive drinking, drug use, and reckless behavior. After a fiery incident involving his ex-girlfriend's belongings, he faces legal consequences and is confined to house arrest under the supervision of Margaret, a resilient publicist. Margaret arranges for Gary to stay in a writer's vacant home, while the writer is away in Canada. As Gary adjusts to his new environment, he encounters Sarah, an intriguing and seemingly receptive neighbor. Meanwhile, peculiar occurrences unfold, including unexplained notes, mysterious noises, and eerie encounters with his own doppelganger in the kitchen. The final chapters untangle the truth behind these phenomena.
