synopsis

The Jesus Rolls tells that in this remake of the 1970s French film 'Balls', John Turturro takes on the role of the macho bowler Jesus Quintana. The title not only refers to their passion for bowling but also to the unique qualities possessed by Jesus and his friend. As a trio of misfits, their irreverent and sexually charged dynamic gradually evolves into an unexpected love story. However, their carefree and spontaneous approach to life, dismissing the importance of the past or future, leads to repeated setbacks and unintended consequences, even as they unknowingly perform acts of kindness. When they find themselves at odds with a gun-wielding hairdresser, their journey becomes a constant pursuit of eluding the law, society, and their hairdresser's nemesis. Along the way, their bond as an outsider family grows stronger, providing them with the strength to navigate the challenges they face.
