synopsis

After catching his wife with another man, Pat Solitano beats him and is sent to a mental hospital where he's diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Upon release, he moves in with his parents but refuses to take medication or attend therapy. He desperately longs to reconcile with his wife, who has taken out a restraining order against him. Despite searching for her, he comes up empty-handed. At dinner with his friend Ronnie, he meets Tiffany, Ronnie's sister-in-law, who is also dealing with personal loss. Although Pat is still focused on his wife, he asks Tiffany to deliver a letter to her. She agrees on the condition that he becomes her dance partner in an upcoming competition, and gradually, they form a bond.
