synopsis

Reindeer Games tells that Rudy Duncan is about to be released from prison after serving a six-year sentence for grand theft auto, along with his cellmate Nick, who has two years left on his separate sentence. Nick has been corresponding with a woman named Ashley through romantic letters and pictures, but he is killed while protecting Rudy during a prison riot. The next day, Ashley is waiting outside the prison for Nick, and Rudy pretends to be him, hoping to finally start a new life with a cup of hot chocolate and his family. However, Nick had previously worked security at an Indian casino, and Rudy becomes involved with Ashley's criminal brother Gabriel, who is a gun runner. Rudy is violently forced to cooperate with Gabriel's plan to rob the casino on Christmas Eve, using Nick's knowledge as the key. As the robbery unfolds, things don't go as planned, and there are several plot twists and double-crosses.
