synopsis

Joaquin Shannon returns from a fishing trip and discovers that his first mate, Charles Nelson, has gotten drunk and is near the body of a man who died after a fight with Shannon. Taking the blame for the man's death, Joaquin goes to prison where he faces trouble from "Big Red" Kincaid. Despite his efforts to keep out of trouble, he is denied a parole, until he stops a prison break, earning him his release. Struggling to find work, he accepts a job on a fishing boat with a former convict. However, Kincaid, who has escaped from prison and seeks revenge, shows up and creates more trouble for Joaquin.
