synopsis

Pleasantville tells that David Wagner is a young boy who is fixated on the 1950s era. He is obsessed with a classic sitcom from that time period called "Pleasantville." The town of Pleasantville is a quaint and uncomplicated place where all the citizens are friendly and simple-minded, unaware of anything beyond their idyllic little world. One day, David and his irritating sister Jennifer are given a supposedly enchanted remote by a strange repairman. During an argument, they accidentally transport themselves into the world of "Pleasantville". Now, David and Jennifer must adjust to a life with suppressed desires and vastly different societal values while attempting to find a way back home.
