synopsis

Three musically inclined chipmunks named Alvin, Simon, and Theodore, living in a tree farm, experience their dwelling being chopped down and transported to Los Angeles. Upon arrival, they meet David Seville, a songwriter who is struggling with frustration. Despite an initial negative impression due to their accidental destruction of his house, the trio amazes David with their singing abilities. Recognizing an opportunity for success, they agree to sing his songs. However, working with the troublesome trio proves difficult, yet their aspiration becomes a reality. Nonetheless, their triumph brings challenges as the unscrupulous record executive, Ian Hawke, schemes to divide the group to exploit the Chipmunks. Can Dave and the Chipmunks identify what genuinely matters amidst the superficial glitz surrounding them?
