synopsis

Clay Jensen, a student at Liberty High School, finds a pair of cassette tapes on his front porch in the first season, which is set in the fictional Californian county of Evergreen. Hannah Baker, a former student at Liberty High School who committed herself two weeks ago, recorded the audio and listed 13 justifications for her decision to end her life. Each recording explains Hannah's interactions with various people and how those interactions led to her demise.
